- 1 medium head of red cabbage, shredded
- 1 large carrot, grated
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon celery seed
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the shredded green cabbage, red cabbage, and grated carrot.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, black pepper, celery seed, and crushed red pepper flakes until the sugar is dissolved.
- Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss to combine.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve chilled alongside pulled pork.
Notes
- For a spicier slaw, increase the amount of crushed red pepper flakes.
- This slaw can be made a day in advance for better flavor.
