Description

Ingredients

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Stir in flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; cook for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk, cooking until the mixture thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in cheese until melted and smooth.
  6. Add the cooked macaroni and crumbled bacon to the cheese sauce; mix well.
  7. Transfer to a baking dish and top with additional cheese and bacon if desired.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
