Description

A delightful and creamy coconut-based drink from Puerto Rico, perfect for the holiday season or any festive occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (14 oz) of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can (13.5 oz) of coconut milk
  • 1 can (12 oz) of evaporated milk
  • 1 cup of white rum
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup of shredded coconut (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the sweetened condensed milk, coconut milk, evaporated milk, white rum, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg.
  2. Blend on high speed until all ingredients are well combined and smooth.
  3. If desired, add shredded coconut and pulse a few times to incorporate.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness or spice levels as needed.
  5. Pour the coquito into bottles and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  6. Serve chilled, garnished with a sprinkle of cinnamon or additional shredded coconut if desired.

Notes

  • Coquito can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the rum.
  • Shake well before serving as ingredients may separate over time.
