- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/4 cup honey
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, melted butter, and honey.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
- Pour the batter into a preheated skillet and spread evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- While the cornbread is baking, prepare the honey butter by mixing softened butter and honey together.
- Once the cornbread is done, let it cool slightly before serving with honey butter.
Notes
- For a sweeter cornbread, increase the sugar to 1/2 cup.
- Serve warm for the best flavor.
