Description

A deliciously moist and fluffy cornbread cooked in a skillet, served with sweet honey butter for a delightful treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, melted butter, and honey.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Pour the batter into a preheated skillet and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. While the cornbread is baking, prepare the honey butter by mixing softened butter and honey together.
  8. Once the cornbread is done, let it cool slightly before serving with honey butter.

Notes

  • For a sweeter cornbread, increase the sugar to 1/2 cup.
  • Serve warm for the best flavor.
