- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 4 slices of cheese (American or cheddar)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 burger buns
- Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, ketchup, mustard
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to high heat.
- Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions.
- Form each portion into a loose ball without compacting it.
- Place the beef balls on the grill and smash them down with a spatula to form patties.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the edges are crispy.
- Flip the patties and place a slice of cheese on each one.
- Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.
- Toast the burger buns on the grill for about 1 minute.
- Assemble the burgers with your choice of toppings and serve immediately.
Notes
- For best results, use a high-fat content ground beef for juicier burgers.
