- 1 whole chicken (about 4–5 pounds)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 lemon, juiced
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Prepare the chicken by removing the backbone using kitchen shears to spatchcock it.
- Flatten the chicken by pressing down on the breastbone.
- Rub the chicken with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and lemon juice.
- Place the chicken skin-side down on the grill and cook for 15 minutes.
- Flip the chicken and grill for an additional 10-15 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Remove from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
