A delicious and nostalgic dessert that combines moist cake with strawberry jello and whipped topping.

- 1 box of white cake mix
- 1 cup of water
- 1/3 cup of vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 package of strawberry jello (3 oz)
- 2 cups of boiling water
- 1 cup of cold water
- 1 tub of whipped topping (8 oz)
- Fresh strawberries for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the white cake mix according to package instructions using water, oil, and eggs.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Once baked, let the cake cool for about 10 minutes.
- Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the top of the cake.
- In a separate bowl, dissolve the strawberry jello in 2 cups of boiling water, then stir in 1 cup of cold water.
- Pour the jello mixture over the cake, ensuring it fills the holes.
- Refrigerate the cake for at least 4 hours or overnight to set.
- Before serving, spread the whipped topping over the cake and garnish with fresh strawberries if desired.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use a homemade cake instead of a box mix.
- Make sure to refrigerate the cake for the recommended time to allow the jello to set properly.
- This cake can be made a day in advance for convenience.
