Description

A delicious and nostalgic dessert that combines moist cake with strawberry jello and whipped topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box of white cake mix
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/3 cup of vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 package of strawberry jello (3 oz)
  • 2 cups of boiling water
  • 1 cup of cold water
  • 1 tub of whipped topping (8 oz)
  • Fresh strawberries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the white cake mix according to package instructions using water, oil, and eggs.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Once baked, let the cake cool for about 10 minutes.
  5. Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the top of the cake.
  6. In a separate bowl, dissolve the strawberry jello in 2 cups of boiling water, then stir in 1 cup of cold water.
  7. Pour the jello mixture over the cake, ensuring it fills the holes.
  8. Refrigerate the cake for at least 4 hours or overnight to set.
  9. Before serving, spread the whipped topping over the cake and garnish with fresh strawberries if desired.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use a homemade cake instead of a box mix.
  • Make sure to refrigerate the cake for the recommended time to allow the jello to set properly.
  • This cake can be made a day in advance for convenience.
