- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 pound pound cake, cut into cubes

Instructions
- In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries and granulated sugar. Let sit for 30 minutes to macerate.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
- In a large trifle dish, layer half of the pound cake cubes at the bottom.
- Add half of the macerated strawberries over the pound cake.
- Spread half of the whipped cream over the strawberries.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining pound cake, strawberries, and whipped cream.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
